Inserting meeting links

“Let’s have a quick call” needs a meeting link these days, and that link otherwise takes a detour through the calendar or the Teams app. The conferencing integration shortens it: the link is created while writing the email, in a few clicks.

  1. Open Settings → Integrations → Conferencing.
  2. Click Connect Microsoft Teams. The Microsoft sign-in opens in your browser.

The account must be allowed to create Teams meetings. That works with work and school accounts on a paid plan with Teams, such as Microsoft 365 Business, Enterprise, EDU or Teams Essentials. Personal accounts (outlook.com, hotmail.com) and the free Teams do not work.

Connect another account adds further Teams accounts, for a second company, for instance. For each account you set whether it is the Provider default, and under Linked mail account, for which sending address it is preselected while writing. Reconnect renews the sign-in, Disconnect removes the account; meetings already sent stay valid.

Click Insert meeting in the editor’s toolbar. Choose the meeting account, enter subject, start and Duration (minutes) and confirm with Insert. YouniqMail creates the meeting in your Teams and places a block with Join meeting into the email. A calendar invitation comes along as an attachment, with the recipients from To and Cc as attendees. If your Teams plan includes dial-in by phone, the dial-in details are in the text as well.

Further providers are under consideration, but promised only once they are built. Until then, the proven path applies for every other service: create the link in its own app and paste it into the mail.
